Stephanie Barnes, Founder & Head Coach

Coach Stephanie Barnes is the Head Swimming Coach at TMI: Texas Military Institute and the San Antonio Splash. Her impressive resume includes Head Coach of Lewis University, Assistant Coach of Auburn University and the 2002 Women's National Champions, Volunteer Coach for the University of Texas Men's Team, and Associate Head Coach at the University of South Carolina.  

She is a 7-time YMCA Champion, Junior National Runner-Up, Senior National Finalist, 2-time Olympic Trial Qualifier, and an NCAA All-American. 

The TMI swim team has now won numerous TAPPS Regional Championships, both boys, girls, and combined. In 2018 the TMI Boys Team won the TAPPS State Swimming Championships and the girls followed suit by taking home the championship in 2021.

After six years at Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club and two consecutive AAAA Summer League Championships Coach Barnes has now enjoyed success with her own summer league team THE SAN ANTONIO SPLASH!  In their first season in 2016, The Splash came in second in the AASSSL Championships and in only their second season The San Antonio Splash WON the AASSL Championships by nearly 600 points! They have followed this win with 3 more consecutive championship victories in 2018, 2019, and 2021.
